Title

Some Trees Have The Ability To Cry And Choose Not To

Date

2020

Description?

Artist breaks the forth wall!!!!!!!!!!!

I will release you from seeing my actual artist statement for this project (I can’t seem to find it/ it was probably some embarrassing take on mental health; I am the saddest girl in the world).^The piece was actually based on a poem from a zine (titled: I am going to try explain) I had made earlier in the year. Without much material, I made a made-up blanket (a collection of old plastic and various plant-matter I had gathered from walks; and attempted at making the words from the poem physical/touching ?). I hadn’t been able to get out of bed much, on the occasion I would go for walks; perhaps I was thinking about blankets and weights and ‘making do’. It was covid, and mostly, I was depressed. I had included the video because actioning the sculpture felt an important part of accessing it/ then, our lecturers were unable to see our works (in the flesh).
